Abstract: Fire accidents are one of the common events in residential and industrial buildings. Any unfortunate event or human negligence could trigger fire accidents in buildings. Reinforced concrete (R.C.) structures are most widely used for residential and few industrial buildings. Fire exposure to any load-carrying structural member may result in structural collapse. Any intensity of fire would create damage to the structural members which alters their stiffness. An effective fire endurance technique to the structural members will help them to survive high temperature exposure for longer duration by maintaining its stiffness. newlineThis study deals with the high-temperature behaviour of three dimensional (3-D) R.C. single-bay single-storey frames. As an initial part of the study, effective fire-resistant techniques were performed on individual structural members. Two effective techniques were followed: one by changing the concrete cover thickness to the beams and columns and another technique was done by changing the top of column geometry using natural biomimicry newline
