dc.description.abstractThe modern era is witnessing the development and revolution of diverse technologies in multiple sectors of world economies. With each passing day, almost every aspect of human lives has been made smarter through intelligent devices around us that enable us to be connected, anytime, anywhere and any place right from smart cities to smart environments. Bridging the gap between digital world and the physical world is accomplished through various technologies dedicated to achieve the desired connectivity. Blockchain emerged as an ideal technology which has the potential to be the next realm of digital advancement after internet. Applications of blockchain is not just limited to financial services in the recent times it has manifested itself through its valuable contributions ranging from self-driven cars to voting system in E-Governance. Utilization of digital technologies for the betterment of society always holds significant priority in comparison to entertainment and other value added applications. E-Governance and VANET are significant applications of blockchain which offers the necessary connection between technology and services to develop and improve the lives of citizens by integrating the information and communication aspects. Our research aims to achieve this objective through offering a link between the citizens and governance through an innovative approach adopting blockchain technology which has the capability to preserve and maintain the privacy, authenticity and credibility of information exchange between government and citizens. Our first investigation is based on protecting the privacy of E-governance scheme through a secure framework combining group signature with chameleon hash functions using blockchain technology.The prime characteristics of E-Governance with respect to high degree of privacy and security to empowerment of citizens can be achieved through the proposed framework which has been validated through comprehensive analysis and evaluation to meet the requirements of t
