Abstract: | newline In a Vehicular network environment, when a vehicle travels on the road to a particular place, it gathers some information regarding traffic in an area, bad road conditions, sudden changes in weather in a particular place, localized events, parking lot information, etc. However, the problem over here is that the destination vehicle generating the information may not be in the proximity of the current vehicle. This thesis proposes three models for efficient routing on the Internet of Vehicles environment. (i) to effectively forward the messages and to promote even the selfish vehicles to work cooperatively in a non-cooperative environment (ii) to transmit the messages securely by selecting the next forwarder by employing originality, authentication, and confidentiality (iii) to receive or enquire for location-based services or events from various vehicles acting as service providers and checking for the trustworthiness of the information in a reliable manner. Initially, forwarder vehicles are selected based on various criteria for transferring the messages to the destination through a trusted path. The initial trust introduces a decision rule that considers weights and uncertainty reliably. The performance of this model was investigated with simulations, and they proved to be effective in terms of message overhead and reliability. |
