dc.description.abstractnewline Diabetes causes diseases like Diabetic Neuropathy, Diabetic Nephropathy, Hypertension and Diabetic Retinopathy(DR). Many important eye diseases as well as systemic diseases manifest themselves in the retina. Diseases such as Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma and Macular degeneration are predominant. Computer aided diagnosis has served as a boon for early detection and diagnosis for retinal diseases. It helps the physician to enhance his/her diagnostic opinion based on image interpretation and proceed with appropriate treatment. Retinal imaging helps to assess retinal vasculature, identify retinal lesions and analyse the retinal morphology. DR is identified by changes in the blood vessels of the retina. Certain demographic and diagnostic parameters play a significant role in predicting the a novel diagnostic method which helps to predict the disease by establishing a significant correlation with the demographic and diagnostic parameters is required. The present study focuses on analysis of retinal images using fractal dimensions and analysing its relationship with demographic and diagnostic parameters. Besides, the study also focuses on analysing the relationship of retinal fractals with diseases due to diabetes and addictive habits.
