Abstract: | newline The evolution of wireless communication, sensor and network technologies has catapulted the Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) to be an upcoming research era, since they can help improving both traffic safety and efficacy. VANET enables secure travel by utilising various secure services and applications, thus playing an important role in the establishment of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). To ensure that communication in VANET is secure through protected effective authentication, security and privacy issues must be considered prior to deployment. Privacy preservation must also be considered to deal with various complex communication situations. Maintaining a sensible trade-off between the security and privacy is one among the primary issues in VANET. newlineA VANET-based Privacy-Preserving Communication Scheme (VPPCS), which satisfies the requirements for content and contextual privacy, was introduced in earlier work. It makes the best use of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and an Identity (ID)-based encryption approach. However, this method has much data redundancy in network owing to tight implementation. Therefore, it is important to reduce the data redundancy by using appropriate aggregation methods. In order to find a solution to this issue, VANET based privacy-preserving communication scheme with Data Redundancy Elimination (DRE) and Route Reporting Scheme (RRS), which is suitable for VANET-enabled traffic control instead of sending warning to vehicles once the congestion occurs. This technique reduces the redundancy and remove the incorrect data, robust privacy preservation and provides efficient route reporting scheme to improve performance of VANET. newline newline |
