dc.description.abstractnewline The metals like mild steel and aluminium are anodic in nature and sensitive to corrosion in particularly certain corrosive medium and the Mild Steel (MS) is highly sensitive to corrosion with Acid (Hydrogen chloride solution) medium. Recently many methods are proposed to protect the anodic metallic surfaces from the corrosion like alloying, organic coating, cathodic protection, inhibition, etc. This is a kind of experimental investigation in which the AA 6351 friction surfacing done on the MS substrate by varying the major influencing process parameters like axial load, spindle speed and traverse speed at three levels. Twenty trials are employed for performing the friction surfacing based on Box-Behnken design. The objective of the research is to increase the corrosion resistivity by inhibition and optimizing the process variables to provide high-quality protection on MS substrate. The developed samples were exposed to elevated temperature from 300oC to 600oC to analyze the temperature effects on work pieces. The friction surfaced work pieces subjected to corrosion behavior were characterized by means of XRD, EDS Spectra and SEM analysis.
