Abstract: Fossil fuels are getting depleted each day and there has been a newlineserious call for alternative fuels in the field of energy. Utilization of newlinepetroleum derived fuels is also causing enormous level emission of pollutants newlineand thereby creating a big threat to the environment. Green fuels with high newlineoutput are most welcomed by the environmentalists and the industrialists. newlineAmong the bio-fuels, biodiesel is recently gathering a huge attraction. The newlinefeedstock for biodiesel is lipids. In country like India, where there is newlineenormous availability of evergreen trees, these lipids could be easily derived newlinefrom low-cost non-edible seeds. There is no much attention required for the newlinecultivation of these crops or trees and thereby the feedstock could be obtained newlinein a very low cost. newline
