Abstract: The commercial aircraft Gas Turbine Engine (GTE) industry has been thriving for decades owing to the rising demand for international air travel. In the next 10 to 20 years, airline traffic is predicted to double, which will likely lead to an increase in the manufacturing of gas turbine engines. Such a surging demand, is driven by multiple requirements such as stronger thrust, efficient fuel economy, and lower emission, which also challenge the gas turbine technology towards advancement. The developmental methods that can cause even a 1% increase in efficiency could result as a solution to multi-million-dollar problem. Gas turbine blades form a vital part of the commercial aircraft system, wherein a turbine blade is not only required to satisfy the mechanical requirements of driving the compressor, but also in protecting itself from the aggressive environment that is prone to severe oxidation, corrosion, and also the effects of high-temperature exposure for a prolonged duration, which eventually result in creep, thermal fatigue, and erosion. The temperature of the hot gases exiting from the combustion chamber and entering the turbine section is termed as the Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT). Cooling techniques coupled with material processing development, facilitated in increase of TIT from 700°C to 1100°C. A coating of thickness close to 0.3-0.4 mm can efficiently reduce the temperature close to 100and#8451;, experienced by the turbine blade. These surface coatings have come to be known as the Thermal Barrier Coating (TBC) are liable to protect the superalloy from thermal effects and protects the superalloy from the uncombusted particles entering at a certain velocity from the combustion chamber. It is required to be encompassed with superior oxidation-resistant and corrosion-resistant behavior and is made of three iv distinct layers, tailored to specific needs and capabilities. Superalloys or otherwise turbine blades are called the substrate, which withstand high mechanical, aerodynamic and centrifugal loads acting on
