Abstract: | Diabetes, a serious and chronic ailment which leads to various other complications in the body like, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, liver disease, kidney problems etc. In broad sense diabetes mellitus is classified into type 1 i.e. Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2 i.e. Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus as well as gestational diabetes (GDM). Type 1 diabetes is autoimmune destruction disorder of the and#946;-cells of islets of pancreas. Type 2 diabetes include insulin resistance. Gestational diabetes is hyperglycemia during pregnancy. Type 2 diabetes has been often characterized with hemodynamic, metabolic and genetic effects.
