Abstract: The high fat diet (HFD) is often associated metabolic disturbances and oxidative stress. Gallic acid (GA), a phenolic substance, has a number of beneficial effects, including anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties. In this study, we sought to determine how GA mitigates alteration caused by HFD in HPG axis of female mice. For a period of 60 and 90 days, the animals were divided into four groups of 6 each. I group-control were fed standard diet. II group were given 60% HFD. In III group animals were fed with 60% HFD along with oral dose of GA (50 mg/kg BW), However IV group were supplied with standard diet and oral GA (50 mg/kg BW). Our findings imply that oral GA treatment can balance body weight, glucose homeostasis, lipid metabolism, and visceral fat formation to reverse HFD-induced alterations. By regulating hyperinsulinemia and glucose tolerance, GA has also reduced the formation of insulin resistance and preserved a metabolic profile. The serum levels of the antioxidants SOD, CAT, and GPx as well as those in the hypothalamus and ovarian tissues were increased by the potent antioxidant GA, which also prevented oxidative damage. By regulating gonadotropin, GA has been able to regulate the HPG axis. GA preserved the histopathological changes in reproductive organs as well as folliculogenesis and steroidogenesis. The results of this study suggested that GA may play a significant role in reducing diet-induced obesity and related comorbidities. newline
