Abstract: | Nanomaterials provide numerous opportunities for a new generation of photovoltaics with high solar energy conversion efficiencies at low fabrication costs. Quantum-confined nanomaterials and polymer inorganic nanocomposites can be tailored to harvest sunlight over a broad range of the spectrum, while plasmonic structures offer effective ways to reduce the thickness of light-absorbing layers. newlineBrief discussions are made of various methods for the synthesis of nanomaterials with specific dimensions, structures, and compositions. Among these methods, the wet chemical method is discovered to be a priceless processing technology of nanostructure production with established commercial uses. Because of its many benefits, including simplicity, high sample purity, good yield, and precise control over particle size and composition, the co-precipitation method is established as an adaptable methodology for the synthesis of samples in the current work. The physical and chemical properties of the nanomaterial are described in detail along with the relevant tools that can be used to do so. newlineThe chapter therefore provides the experimental specifics of the current work in the dimension of characterizations such as XRD, FTIR, XPS, SEM¬EDAX, TEM-SAED, UV Visuval spectroscopy, Photo Luminescence spectroscopy studies. newlinePure (PZ), Nd-doped ZnO (NZ) and Nd Sm co-doped ZnO (NSZ) NPs (1 wt%) were successfully synthesized by using a simple co-precipitation process for photocatalytic application. newline |
