dc.description.abstractABSTRACT newline newlinePurpose: newline newlineThe purpose of the study is to find the effect of Yogic practices with and without Mantra chanting on physiological, biochemical and psychological variables among Hypertensive middle aged women. newlineMethodology: newline newlineAmong the 230 responses, 130 hypertensive middle aged women were found suitable, 60 gave their consent and were finally screened to 45 at random as subjects by newlineusing random group sampling method. Subjects were divided into three groups of 15 each, A, B and C. Preliminary tests were conducted for all the three groups on the selected risk factors. After the experimental period, the three groups were retested again on the same selected dependent variables for thisrandom group experimental study. newline newlineResults: newline newlineThe outcome of the t-test showed that Yogic Practices with Mantra chanting and Yogic Practices alone have significant differences on the selected risk factors among hypertensive middle aged women (plt0.001) than the control group. The computation of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) showed significant differences among the experimental group A, experimental group B and the control group C at plt0.001. The results of the Scheffe s Post Hoc test showed that Yogic Practices with Mantra Chanting was newlineconsiderably effective than Yogic Practices alone on selected risk factors among newline newlinehypertensive middle age women at plt0.001. The test of significance was fixed at 0.05 level of confidence. newline newline
