Abstract

Professor Rattan Parimoo is associated with Faculty of Fine Arts of M. S. University from the days of its inception. First as a senior student and later in the capacity of a faculty he has watched closely every events and turns of art activity in and out of his studio.With his doctoral thesis on Three Tagores, under the guidance of Dr. Stella Kramrisch, he not only covered an issue of Modern Indian Art but also learnt latest German art historical techniques in 1973. He is an authority of Contemporary arts and his commendable and unequivocal hold on various issues of this phase is proven by variety and depth of his research. In the course of flow, he has experienced confusion and struggle with his contemporaries, in order to define new artistic language. For the in-depth investigation, this researcher wants to use his expertise, to have balanced and critical assessment of Modern Indian Paintings. newline
