Decision Support System for Integrated Watershed Management

Abstract

Rainwater is the most important natural assets, which is useful for agriculture, ground water improvement and working of biological systems. The storage of rainwater in the Rela watershed by rain water harvesting systems like farm ponds, check dams and percolation tanks by identifying the runoff potential and geomorphology of study area by using RS and GIS and integrated this information with a mobile based Decision Support System for designing of water harvesting systems by using android programming for android based smartphones. newlineIn this study whole watershed was divided into 29 sub-basins. The runoff was estimated by using ArcSWAT with 30 years of climate data from 1988 to 2017 for whole watershed as well as 29 sub-basins of Rela watershed. The average runoff for the watershed basin wise was found 177.48 mm which is 31% of total average rainfall of 577.6 mm. The geo morphological parameters computed in the current study contains stream order, stream frequency, stream length, circulatory ratio, bifurcation ratio, drainage density, form factor, relief ratio elongation ratio and ruggedness number by standard approaches and formulae.Contd.....
