Abstract: Background: There are numerous classical Ayurvedic text book belonging to different time period. The earliest of the available text books belong to Samhita period. Ayurveda has survived thousands of years and for these many years the knowledge of Ayurveda has transcended without much of modification. The knowledge was carried forward from time immemorial through various methods of teaching and learning process. The knowledge has not lost anywhere in these processes and through these years, because they are preserved by the way how they are written and handed over from one generation to another. The Acarya of Ayurveda was so keen in preserving the knowledge of Ayurveda and thus implied some methodical devices for writing the scriptures. The same has been utilized by the readers of different time period to understand the scriptures. Thus the meaning of the scriptural writings doesnand#8223;t change. newlineTantrayukti are the methodical devices employed in the composition of the texts. The Tantrayukti are to be employed by the reader to completely uncover the scripture. Tantrayukti are enumerated by different Acaryas. Thirty six Tantrayukti are explained in Caraka Samhita Siddhisthana by Dridabala. Thirty two Tantrayukti are enlisted in Susruta Samhita Uttarasthana in Tantrayukti Adhyaya. Thirty six Tantrayukti are explained in Ashtanga Samgraha, like that of Caraka Samhita. The main text of Ashtanga Hrdaya doesnand#8223;t explain Tantrayukti. The commentator of Ashtanga Hrdaya Arunadatta in his commentary Sarvangasundara enlisted and explained 36 Tantrayukti like that of Caraka Samhita. Commentators have facilitated a lot in the flow of original knowledge from the writers of the texts to readers and scholars of later period. Chakrapani in his commentary Ayurveda Dipika has elaborated 36 Tantrayukti with necessary illustrations. Bhattaraharischandra in his commentary explained the 36 Tantrayukti enlisted in Caraka Samhita.
