Abstract

Pulpectomy is the only viable option to retain a primary tooth with irreversible pulpal newlinepathosis in its position until physiological exfoliation. Biomechanical preparation is the newlinemajor step in determining the success of pulpectomy. In the field of pediatric newlineendodontics, there has been a progression with the type of instruments used for canal newlinepreparation. newlineAIM: newlineTo compare the quality of obturation, instrumentation time and post-operative pain newlineafter pulpectomy in primary molars using manual K-files, Kedo-S square and Kedo-S newlinePlus rotary file systems. newlineMATERIALS AND METHODS: newlineA double blinded randomized control trial was conducted in 45 children between the newlineage group of 4 and 8 years, who were indicated for pulpectomy in any one of the newlineprimary mandibular molars. The children were divided into 3 groups with 15 teeth in newlineeach. The canal preparation was done using hand K-files, Kedo-S Square files, and newlineKedo-S Plus. The time taken for instrumentation was recorded using a stopwatch.
