Abstract

Ameloblastoma is a locally aggressive benign epithelial odontogenic tumor. newlineAmeloblastoma can cause facial asymmetry, displacement of teeth, malocclusion, and newlinepathologic fractures. Studies show that genetic factors involved in tooth development, newlinecytodifferentiation, and morphodifferentiation are associated with ameloblastoma newlineprogression, as these signaling molecules are altered significantly in ameloblastoma. The newlinemechanism and signaling pathways operating these signaling molecules are yet to be newlinestudied. Molecular studies on ameloblastoma showed significant upregulation of mitogen newlineactivated protein kinase pathway. The KRAS responsive genes, IGF1 and TLR2 were newlineoverexpressed, implying that these genes may mediate cell survival signaling in newlineameloblastoma cells. The signaling pathways associated with both IGF1 and TLR2 in newlinepathogenesis of ameloblastoma are ambiguous.
