Abstract: | Human activity is widely known to affect the quality of water sources. The quality of newlinethe water varies greatly due to the type of the input water and other direct human newlineactivities such as washing and bathing. Ponds are extremely vital to the human newlinepopulation although accounting for just a small percentage of aquatic ecosystems. The newlinepresent physicochemical properties have a substantial influence on the biological newlineorganisms of water bodies. Ponds in India, therefore, demand a comprehensive newlineecological study of their structure, function, and management. Limnological research newlineare essential to understanding aquatic community, structure, algal biodiversity, tropic newlineand pollution status, type, and degree of anthropogenic effects on aquatic systems. newlineThis information is necessary for the protection of finite water supplies. Thus, the newlinequantitative and qualitative properties of the algal component and its seasonal cycles newlinewere carefully examined in relation to the water quality indicators of Nehtada Pond newlineand Rampura Pond. newlineMonthly water samples from two ponds Nehtada Pond and Rampura Pond were newlinetaken between October 2020 and July 2022 for chemical and biological study. Using a newlineplankton net with a blunted cone form, the algal samples were obtained and quickly newlinekept in preservatives. In terms of organisms per litre, algae were expressed. newlineChlorophyceae, Bacillariophyceae, Euglenophyceae, and Cyanophyceae algal species newlinewere identified. The following physical and chemical variables were examined: water newlinetemperature, pH, free carbon dioxide, dissolved oxygen, total suspended solids, total newlinedissolved solids, total solids, carbonate, bicarbonate, total alkalinity, total acidity, total newlinehardness, calcium, chloride, phosphate, nitrate, biological oxygen demand, and newlinechemical oxygen demand. Bicarbonate concentrations were higher than carbonate newlinelevels in both water bodies. Alkalinity measurements rose in the summer in both newlineponds. Nehtada Pond showed somewhat increased chloride levels despite no obvious newlinealteration. The phosphorus levels in Nehtad |
