Abstract: The treasure trove of financial data is included in financial statements, but the vault is locked. newlineThe key, which is represented by financial appraisal/analysis, is required in order to open and newlineaccess the relevant information from this chest. Financial analysts use the study of financial newlinestatements as a key tool to determine a company s financial health over time, including its newlineprofitability, liquidity, solvency, and operational performance. Users of the financial newlinestatements can gain a better understanding of the firm s financial strength and weaknesses by newlinefollowing the correct procedures for financial analysis of the information included therein. newlineThe purpose of the current study, FINANCIAL APPRAISAL OF PUBLIC SECTOR newlineENTERPRISES:WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO NATIONAL MINERAL newlineDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION LIMITED , was to gain insight into the financial newlineperformance of the company. The current study spans a ten-year period from 2004 2005 to newline2013 2014, which is thought to be sufficient to identify trends and produce useful outcomes. newlineThe current study aims to evaluate the financial health of NMDC, by examining its newlineprofitability, solvency, liquidity, and asset management capabilities over a ten-year period newlinefrom 2004 2005 to 2013 2014. The current study is based on secondary data that was newlinegathered from the company s annual reports. The balance sheet and income statement of the newlinecompany have been examined using accounting and statistical methodologies for the aim of newlinefinancial appraisal. The use of numerous statistical and accounting techniques was made. The newlinefinancial information has been compiled and presented graphically for easy viewing. There newlineare eight chapters in the current study. The first chapter covers an overview of the public newlinesector, profile of NMDC and concept of financial appraisal. The research topic, research newlineobjectives, research technique, and literature review are all explained in the second chapter. newlineThe analysis of profitability situation utilising various profitability ratios is covered in the newlinethird chapter.
