dc.description.abstractAgriculture sector is the heart of India s social development. India is agriculture dependent country because 2/3rd of its population depends upon agriculture for their survival, and it contributes approximately 14 per cent to India s GDP. Agriculture in India is Diversified and location specific due to different agro-climatic conditions. Different states of India has different cropping pattern and different cash crop cultivation for production. Henna cultivation has scope in rural India. With this background and looking at considerable scope of growing henna for the economic development of the arid regions, it is essential that farmers should adopt scientific production technologies for higher production and productivity. The present study entitled Impact of Improved Henna (Lawsonia inermis L.) Production Technologies Developed by ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) in Pali District of Rajasthan has been thought to be undertaken with following objectives: newline1. To measure the level of knowledge of beneficiary and non-beneficiary farmers regarding improved henna production technologies. newline2. To assess the extent of adoption of beneficiary and non-beneficiary farmers. newline3. To study the impact of improved henna cultivationn technologies in terms of production and productivity. newline4. To measure the opinion of farmers towards improved henna production technologies. newline5. To find out the constraints being faced by beneficiary and non-beneficiary farmers in adoption of improved henna production technologies. newlineThe present study was conducted in purposively selected Pali district of Rajasthan. For respondent s selection, a complete list of beneficiaries was obtained from records available to KVK. From the obtained list, 12 farmers from each village (6 beneficiaries who obtained training on improved henna production technologies and 6 non-beneficiaries, those who have not participated in said training programme) was selected randomly.
