Abstract: | newlineAgriculture and allied sector is the spirit of social development of our country. In present scenario, what is really worrying is the fact that educated rural youth or even agricultural graduates are not interested in taking up agriculture and its allied sector as a profession. Livestock sector has a great scope in rural tribal communities. Goat and poultry farming enterprise has great potential and play prominent role in ensuring food and nutritional security in rural areas. After realizing the promising role of youth, government has decided to initiate a project for attracting and retaining them towards agriculture and allied areas. Keeping the above facts in view, the present investigation entitled Impact of Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) Project on Goat and Poultry Farming in Banswara District of Rajasthan was conducted with the following objectives: newlinei. To study the extent of knowledge of beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of ARYA project about improved practices of goat and poultry farming. newlineii. To study the attitude of beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries towards recommended practices of goat and poultry farming. newlineiii. To study the extent of adoption of recommended practices of goat and poultry farming among the beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries under ARYA project. newlineiv. To study the impact of ARYA project on beneficiaries in terms of socio- economic improvement. newlinev. To ascertain the association between selected personal variables and adoption of recommended practices of goat and poultry farming. newlinevi. To identify the constraints being faced by beneficiaries in adoption of recommended practices of goat and poultry farming.The present study was conducted in Banswara district of Southern Rajasthan which was purposively selected. 120 beneficiaries were selected purposively who have obtained training on goat and poultry farming. 120 non-beneficiaries were selected randomly.
