newlineSocial media are modern interactive communication channels through which people connect to one another, share ideas, experiences, pictures, messages and information of common interest. Social media provide tools by which people can communicate, share information and create new relationships. Penuel and Riel (2007) define social networking as a set of people and the relationships between them . newlineThe origin of social network makes information accessible to everyone on all issues around the world. If we don t have internet, we need to purchase newspaper and magazine, watching TV or listening radio to get information. Now usage of SNS is common among the youth as well as older one. These sites allow user to make new friends, chatting with friends and family, sharing pictures and ideas. Social media provides more benefits that develop their perception about society, self and the humanity (Boyd, 2007). Social media sites can be helpful to increase efficiency as well as exposure of the students in new era. With this background in view the present study entitled Use of Social Media by Postgraduate Students in Agricultural Universities of Rajasthan has been thought to be undertaken with the following specific objectives: newline1. To find out level of awareness among postgraduate students about social media. newline2. To identify the utilization pattern and satisfaction of social media by postgraduate students in academic activities. newline3. To assess the impact of social media on academic performance of postgraduate students newline4. To see association between social media usage and personal characteristics of postgraduate students To identify constraints faced by postgraduate students in utilization of social media newline6.
