Abstract: | Cyclodextrin as a class are enormously important host compound with newlinea wide variety of industrial uses in the food .cosmetics and pharmaceutical newlinesectors, generally as slow release and compound delivery agents. They are newlinealso of significant importance as enzyme mimics. They have the particular newlineadvantage of being entirely nontoxic over a wide dosage range. So newlineimportant are they that an entire volume of Comprehensive Supramolecular newlineChemistry is devoted to them. Industrial production of the most important newlinemember of the cyclodextrin family, P-cyclodextrin is about 1500 tons per newlineyear and its price is just a few dollars per kilogram. newline |
