Abstract: The existing sub 6 GHz radio frequency bands for cellular communications have now newlinebecome too crowded to support the future demands of ever increasing mobile traffic. For instance, newlinechannel bandwidth in the existing cellular network (4G) is 20 - 40 MHz and throughput is 100 newlineMbps with mobility. In contrast, service requirements of 5G cellular network include data rate of newlineupto 1 Gbps/connection and channel bandwidth of upto 1 GHz. To meet these service newlinerequirements, under-utilized millimeter wave (mmW) frequency bands of 28 GHz and 38 GHz newlinehave been extensively studied for the implementation of future cellular networks since the newlineallocation of a licensed spectrum of 3.85 GHz in these frequency bands by the Federal newlineCommunications Commission (FCC), USA in 2016. newline
