Abstract

Ageing is natural unrestrictive and irreversible process. In this there are changes in various dimensions which include physiological, mental, social and conceptual. Elders are generally defined as individual 60 year and older. Process of ageing not only effects the older persons, but it also has remarkable effect on families as well as on society. Ageing residents are growing at very fast rate in all over the world. According to Indian Ageing Report (2017) globally, the elderly residents constitute about 12% of the total population of 7.3 billion. The number of elderlies will increase twice by 2050, and approximately will get up to 2 billion and contribute for about 22% of the global population, outnumbering those under the age of 15 for the first time in history newline
