Effect of illegal migration on the national security a study with special reference to India and USA

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to critically analyse and determine whether or not undocumented migrants are a threat to the national security of a country and whether or not the current perspective of immigration ni the world requires an evolved perspective. Immigration and national security perspective define governmental norms, laws and policies. In return these also have their own consequences such as seen in the context of NRC in India and stricter US immigration laws over decades. It is true that immigration makes changes to the homogeneity in society and there are cultural differences, however, national security must not be attributed to these. National security must be looked at with a fresh perspective of friendly immigration laws, failing which, national security will become a threat to migration in the world. newline
