dc.description.abstract | The energy resources available in a nation decide its wealth. The consumption of energy by the nation will affect its growth. Countries in the category of developing phase must execute practices that are highly focused on energy saving scenarios. In countries like India, the population density is very high and the energy consumption is high as well. Our countries budget plans are formulated with priority given to this energy saving aspect. Modern industrial policies are formulated with this idea as a major constrain along with productivity improvement. However, the energy consumption is not completely done by the industrial environment. Domestic energy consumption is a major segment for our nation s energy policy. Industrial revolution had improvised the standard of living for a common man by providing complete sophistication in all the needs. However, the sophistication is always associated with the higher power consumption rate. Top priority must be provided for ensuring the complete execution of domestic energy saving in our country. It is evident from the annual reports that the gap is continuously increasing between supply and demand of electrical energy. New strategies and modern innovations are more invited for improving the domestic energy saving. It had provided an idea for this present research work to conserve energy in the field of domestic refrigeration system. newlineThe present work aimed at reducing the power consumption and improving the performance of a domestic refrigerator by incorporating the nano particles into the refrigerants. The key advantage of nano particles is their high surface area to volume ratio. Addition of such nano particles to the refrigerant was expected to provide improvement in Co-efficient of Performance (COP), available energy and overall system efficiency.
