Abstract: Academia and industry are the two facets of a coin. Academia produces trained newlinemanpower for the industry hence it has to imbibe the desired skills and competencies newlinein the graduates to ensure their successful career in the hospitality industry. In the newlinerecent years, hospitality industry and academic institutions are facing a tough newlinechallenge of turnover and retention. Many universities have had to introduce new newlineinitiatives designed to draw and retain undergraduates. They have involved newlineexperiential learning to combine academic knowledge with real practice thus making newlineit more beneficial for learners. Plenty of efforts are being made to uplift the quality of newlineprevailing hospitality education by continuously working on curriculum restructuring newlinethus making the hospitality students more competent as per the industry requirements. newlineThis present study has been designed to understand the perceptions of educators and newlinestudents towards hospitality education in Punjab with special focus on quality of newlineprevailing hospitality education. There are total 28 universities in Punjab and out of newlinewhich 13 universities were offering hospitality courses in their campus. The data was newlinecollected through well structured questionnaires, one for the students and another for newlinethe educators. The present study selected 260 educators and 650 students in total and newlinethe data was analyzed using appropriate statistical tools. This study will be significant newlinefor the students, hospitality educators and hospitality industry as it will throw light on newlinethe potential methods useful for upgrading the quality of hospitality education.
