dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study to investigate the status of management practices, to estimate the requirement and availability of green and dry fodder status, to assessment of knowledge level and constraints faced by dairy farmers of Hadoti region in Rajasthan. The data were collected from randomly selected 225 respondents through personal interview using pre-tested structured schedule. The result revealed that majority of respondents (60.44%) kept their animals in pucca houses and (81.33%) of dairy shed attached to farmer s dwelling. About 49.33 and 86.22 % of respondents provided long axis of the dairy animal shed in East-West and in a single line housing system respectively. 82.22 and 87.11 % of the respondents provided adequate lighting and protect to animals against extreme weather, respectively. 53.77, 80.89 and 74.22 % of respondents maintained medium cleanliness of sheds, provided kuccha floor and proper wall facilities, respectively. About 53.78% of respondents provided thatched roof and 50.67% of animal s house had no drainage system. Majority (48.89%) of the respondents had distant manure pit. 71.11 and 63.11% of respondents practiced stall and group feeding, respectively. Majority of the respondent (96%) is practiced to cultivation of green fodder and 50.67% used only wheat straw as a dry source. 48.89 % of respondents fed both homemade and compounded cattle feed. 47.56% of respondents practiced feeding their livestock based on milk production. 52.44 and 60.89% of the respondents were following feeding of green fodder and dry fodder chaffed respectively. 52 and 64% of respondents feeding of concentrate during milking and soaked in water. 74.22 and 79.11% of the respondents don t provide extra concentrate and salt to advanced pregnant heifers respectively. 80.84% of respondent provided water two times a day. newline
