Abstract: | The researcher studied the literature regarding the travel and tourism industry for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) travel. Empirical research was lacking in different service variables and only some empirical work has been done in the travel and tourism industry. It ended by creating a research gap within the research field. newlineThe researcher tried to find this gap in this market, gave some inputs to the industry related to this sector, and tried to build a bridge in this gap. This gap was filled using a qualitative research study and calculations were done on the primary data collected. When the empirical study was done, it found to be that a few of the gaps seen in the MICE travel domain were Expectations meetings the reality when the travellers in on tour, Price competitiveness which gives the variation in the services offered to the end customers and the Standard Operating Process which eases the work process with the travel agent and end customers. newlineResearch gap was found that MICE travellers were given an upscale level of expectations by creating a huge hype by the travel agents. But when they travel to the destination to experience the services it does not meet the expectations of the MICE travellers. This was not researched in any of the MICE tourism-related research studies earlier. This is the uniqueness of this research. Another gap that the researcher tried to fill by giving a contribution was price competitiveness. As price is the main factor that comes into consideration when opting for any of the services. Different organizations have varied their experience and were not the same even once when purchasing the tours for the same destinations or variable locations, this created the gap and became a crucial consideration when visiting any destination. When working organizations plan to have any MICE travel for their performers, it becomes uneasy for them to work always with a new process. |
