Abstract: | Leadership is an important element for the smooth functioning of an organization. There is newlineone leadership style called Micromanagement leadership which is nowadays observed in newlinemany organizations and which needs more empirical evidence. Though there are traces of newlineresearch in this style there are more of conceptual-based studies than empirical ones. newlineMoreover, this leadership style has not been studied much in context to how it influences the newlineperformance of teaching staff in Higher educational institutions. newlineThere are various kinds of literature that suggest that Micromanagement leadership is harmful newlineand have negative implications. However, there are few research that supports that under newlinesome conditions Micromanagement can be beneficial and help the organization to achieve its newlinegoals and objectives. The study is focussed on finding the implications of micromanagement newlinein academics and how it affects the research and teaching andstudents learning factors of newlineteaching staff. It also aims to find the influence of demographic variables like gender, age, newlinequalification, designation, and experience on Micromanagement leadership and performance. newlineThis study has also explored the perspective of Supervisors/HODs/HOIs of higher newlineeducational institutions towards the usage of micromanagement leadership. The researcher newlinehas used both quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection and has used various newlineanalytical tools like SEM with SMART PLS SPSS and Thematic analysis with QDA Miner newlinelite software. The input from the research will contribute to the existing theory by developing newlinethe scale for micromanagement leadership which can be used for future research. The newlineinfluence of Micromanagement leadership on Performance was also tested through this study newlinein higher educational institutions. newline |
