Abstract: | vii newlineAbstract newlineManufacturing of high-performance concrete, which is majorly used as building material in the major and huge infrastructure projects, is a daunting task. Apart from the green materials, many conventional and mineral admixtures or micro materials are available in the market, which enhances the quality and performance of concrete such as Metakaolin, Alcidine and Silica Fume etc. newlineThe quality of concrete mix is assessed through various mechanical properties like compressive strength, flexural strength and split tensile strength and various durability tests like rapid chloride penetration test (RCPT), absorptivity test, chloride resistance test, accelerated corrosion test and sea water attack test are carried out to analyses the performance of HPC. newlineThe literature review of all the authors who have worked on the high-performance concrete were thoroughly studied and analyzed and then my research study concluded that there is no so far work done for the concrete mixes used in the highly aggressive environment and the structures constructed in the marine zone and so my research study focused towards high performance concrete in such a situation. newlineThe research methodology used in the study was used as qualitative and quantitative newline. The research study is experimental one. The concrete cube samples were made from different mixes with certain percentage replacement of cementitious materials. All these cubes were tested in the lab as Compressive strength test, split tensile strength testandflexture test and report were noted. Similarly, concrete cubes of these mixes were tested for rapid chloride penetration test, absorptivity test, chloride resistance test and accelerated corrosion test. newlineThe research study after analyzing the test concluded that concrete sample made by 7.5 % replacement of cement by silica fume in presence of methylamine plasticizer exhibited good performance with respect to strength and durability characteristics and so can be recommended in a highly aggressive environment and marine zone upto M60- |
