Abstract: | Every human being possesses emotions. These are biological state of mind that are newlineassociated with feelings, thoughts, temperaments and moods of a person. Emotions newlinemay vary from person to person at different stages of life. Emotions are considered to newlinebe an important part or driving force behind person motivation to do a task. In today s newlinescenario now it can be clearly observed that children of age group 15-18 are newlineemotionally disturbed due to various reasons. newlineEmotional stability is an important characteristic of an individual personality that newlinehelps the person to remain calm and patient. Scott (1968) opined that emotional newlinestability as one of the seven important indicators of superior mental health. It has been newlineobserved that emotions play an important role in the development of an individual and newlinealso affects the learning. newlineThe present study is to study the emotional stability of higher secondary students in newlinerelation to their Socio-economic status, Personality type and Academic achievement. newlineIn the present study Socio-economic status has been considered an important variable newlineto establish the relationship with emotional stability of higher secondary students. newlineSocio-Economic status is the position of an individual in a social structure in terms of newlineacademics, politics and economic condition. newlineThe various parameters are considered to measure the socio-economic status such as newlineeducation, occupation, income and social mobility. Similarly, personality types like newlineintrovert and extrovert are also taken into account for the study and to establish the newlinerelationship with the emotional stability. newlineiii newlineAcademic achievement means the knowledge derived from learning. It is the level of newlinesuccess attained by an individual or group on completion of a task whether it can be newlineacademic, manual, personal or social.
