Abstract: | Heat transfer characteristics of heat exchanger depends on its design, operating newlineparameters and the type of fluid used. The heat transfer characteristics could be newlineimproved by suspending nanoparticle in the base fluid, which precedence to increase newlinein overall thermal conductivity and lowers thermal resistance. The energy and exergy newlineproperties of various Al2O3-DI water hybrid nanofluids moving in a counter-flow newlineplate heat exchanger have been experimentally determined in the current investigated. newlineThe studies were carried out at operating temperatures of 10, 15, 20, and 25 C for the newlinehybrid nanofluid and a nanoparticle volume concentration of 0.1% at a 4:1 mixing newlineratio, coolant flow rate of 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 lpm. This experimental newlineinvestigation examined the heat transfer coefficient of CuO/water nanofluids with an newlineimproved particle concentration of 0.50 to 0.30 percent compared to water. newlineAdditionally, employing nanofluids as a coolant reduced energy loss by 20%.As the newlinevolumetric concentration of the nanofluid rises, so does its rate of heat transmission. newlineThe most commonly used working nanofluid for experimental investigation is Al2O3 newline(Alumina) water nanofluid, where noticeable increase the overall heat transfer newlinecoefficient as well as energy and exergy efficiency were found. Other commonly used newlinenano additives are CuO (Copper oxide), MgO (Magnesium oxide), TiO2 (Titanium newlineDioxide) and MWCNT (Multi walled carbon nano tubes). A significant increase in newlinethe overall thermal conductivity of nanofluid has been detected with the use of newlineMWCNT nanoadditives.MWCNT based nanoadditives have been used in hybrid newlinecombination with other nanoadditives as a coolant for the heat exchanger in order to newlinestudy energy/exergy performance, which is quite expensive and can be associated newlinewith high cost of MWCNT nanoadditives. In current study CuO based hybrid newlinenanofluids (CuO- Al2O3, CuO-MgO, CuO-TiO2 and CuO-MWCNT) has been newlineprepared. The corresponding increase in energy and exergy performance has been newlineevaluated for each nanofluid for a fixe |
