dc.description.abstract | This work comprises of seven chapters: chapter one Introduction, followed by chapter two Review of Literature, chapter three Present Status of Indian Pharmaceutical Industry, chapter four IPRs and Indian Pharmaceutical Industry, chapter five Data Analysis and Interpretation, chapter six SWOT Analysis of Indian Pharmaceutical Industry and chapter seven Conclusion. After reviewing relevant literature on impact of patent regime on Indian pharmaceutical industry researcher realized that the research gaps which have been formulated precise objectives. The impact of patent regime 2005 has been analyzed on the performance dimensions of the pharmaceutical Industry. A primary survey was conducted by using a self-structured questionnaire. The study covers 350 respondents from topmost ten companies of pharmaceutical industry. On the basis of test computation at 0.05 level of significance, the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was applied to determine the effect of more than one dependent variable and to compare the mean of two different groups but population is same. All the sub hypotheses and findings reveal that sig. value is 0.000, which means p value is less than the 0.05 and thus all the sub hypotheses are rejected, the evidence suggests that there is difference in impact of pre and post patent regime on performance of Indian pharmaceutical industry. The study concludes that due to technological changes, research and development innovations post patent regime most impacted by the existing patent regime.
