Ethos is a powerful conception. It changes with the passage of time and newlinesocial reality. We can see the reflection of this concept ethos in newlinecontemporary literature of the period. Ethos as a moral value belongs to a newlineparticular group of society. This research study presents re visioning of newlinefemale ethos in Indian English writing of Amitav Ghosh. In Indian English newlineliterature writer s portrayed women and their experience in male dominating newlinesocial orders with a contemplative accord.
