dc.description.abstractThe present study entitled EVALUATION PRACTICES FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN AT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEVEL IN ODISHA was undertaken with the following objectives such as (i) To study the practices of evaluation in curricular subjects of visually impaired children in elementary schools. (ii) To study the practices of evaluation in curricular activities of visually impaired children in elementary schools. (iii) To study the perception of teachers, parents and students about evaluation of visually impaired children in the elementary school level. The study was a mixed-method type of research, the sole purpose is to study the evaluation practices of visually impaired students in special and inclusive schools. Hence, the Convergent Parallel design has been followed in the study. For the present study the population of the study was all the blind schools and inclusive elementary schools of Odisha. All the visually impaired (totally blind) students studying in inclusive elementary schools and blind schools of Odisha are the target population of the study. The accessible population is confined to all the visually impaired (totally blind) students studying in inclusive elementary schools of Odisha in the districts: Cuttack, Khordha, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Balesore, Bhadrak and Kandhamal and special schools for the Blind for class I-VIII in the district: Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Balesore, Bhadrak and Kandhamal. Purposive sampling method was followed by selecting inclusive school, and blind schools. Twenty inclusive schools and nine blind schools were selected purposively as the sample of the study.
