Abstract: The power generated by a photovoltaic cell/module depends on several environmental newlinefactors, including solar irradiation and temperature, which leads to change in output newlinevoltage and current. Thus, tracking maximum power and transferring it efficiently to the newlineload is a challenging job under such varying conditions. A brief literature survey along newlinewith importance of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Systems for photovoltaic newlinesystems has been presented in this thesis. DC-DC converters which forms the essential newlinepart of MPPT, governed by the algorithms, have also been described. Output voltage newlineregulation of DC-DC, apart from the extraction of maximum power, is indispensable for newlinemost of the photovoltaic based system. In this thesis design and implementation of some newlinenovel circuits for optimum power transfer for photovoltaic systems have been proposed newlineand worked out experimentally. newline
