Abstract: Tourism has emerged as a meaningful resource to generate employment thus helping to overcome poverty and nurturing healthy and sustainable development. Training programs in the ground of Hotel Management, Catering and Nourishment were started by Government of India in the year 1962 under the Department of Food, Ministry of Agriculture. Training not only helps in boosting the efficiency of employees but also productivity and revenue. Training and development are at the heart of an organization that seeks recurrent growth and improvement. It is a process of learning provided to new and existing employees acquiring knowledge and technical skills and developing attitudes of behaviour in order to be more operative in their jobs. There are positive challenges in Human Resource Management in tourism industry. Organizations and managers in the tourism and hospitality industry face real challenges in recruiting, development and maintaining a committed, well-managed and well-motivated workforce which is focused on offering a high quality product to the increasingly demanding and discerning customer. Employee training is an essential function for many trades and most large businesses have a formal training function in place. Those that don t would be well advised to consider one; in fact, even smaller organizations can benefit. Where do you start? Training not only helps in boosting the efficiency of employees and thereby productivity and revenue it also helps in boosting employee morale, which can drive increased productivity and reduce turnover. Employees who receive training that is intended to help them meet personal and professional goals disposed to feel more valued. The lack of Training and Development programmes for the employees of MPSTDC Leads to an ineffectiveness in the MP tourism due to Which There is a failure of revenue generation.
