Abstract: | Punjab is the holy land of Gurus, Pir Paigambars and Saint-Mahatmas, whose glorious history is visible in its culture and civilization. The continuous stream of music is continuously flowing in the form of classical music, folk music, Sufi music and Gurmat music. Present Punjab is mainly divided into three regions Majha, Malwa and Doaba. Doaba has made an important contribution in the preservation and promotion of Hindustani music. The four gharanas of Indian music, Shamchaurasi, Talwandi, Haryana and Kapurthala, have been associated with this Doaba region. Who has given high quality musicians to Indian music. This area has also played an important role in the preservation of the rich historical heritage of Indian music due to the presence of All India Radio and Doordarshan Kendras operated by the Government of India in this area. Nongovernmental centers, educational institutions and youth festivals have provided a platform for unique recognition to the creativity of young talents. Music festivals, music fairs, seminars are the measure of the quality of the artist. The influx of international artists has established the influence of each genre of music, with listeners developing an understanding of music. The graded approved artists of All India Radio, Doordarshan, Sufi music with best artists from different gharanas, home to high level artists of folk music, Doaba region became the custodian of rich heritage of Indian music. newline |
