Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the prime cause of death in the world, accounting for a quarter of total adult deaths in India. The study analysed the impact of socio-economic indicators on risk of developing CVD, by investigating the prevalence of socio-economic, clinical, and lifestyle risk factors of CVD. It was revealed that low socio-economic status was associated with a higher risk of developing CVD based on which health delivery initiatives were recommended for developing focused approach to decrease the burden of CVD. newline
