Abstract: Over the past few years, the Yagi-Uda antennas, especially printed quasi-Yagi antennas (QYAs), have been extensively used in wireless communication systems due to their attractive features of the unidirectional end-fire radiation pattern, high front-to-back ratio (FTBR), lightweight and ease of design procedure. Classically, in printed QYAs, driven element and director elements are realized by dipole (in the form of printed metallic strips) and reflector is realized by truncating the ground behind the driven element. The printed QYAs reported in the literature require complex feeding structures, leading to increased dimensions, losses and cross-polarization levels. Hence, the printed QYAs, which can meet the contemporary requirements: simple, compact, wide/multi-band and easily integrable configurations of present multifunctional wireless devices, are presented in this thesis. newline
