Abstract: | In the modern era, organisations face various challenges like work stress and employee turnover. With this as background the research focused on finding the relation of workplace spirituality, work stress and employee retention among software engineers. Base research was conducted among software engineers in Kerala, India with an intend to find the impact of workplace spirituality on work stress and employee retention among them. Using appropriate tools and methods to analyse the data, this study was conducted sample of 632 software engineers from all over Kerala. The research work also focused on finding the impact of workplace spirituality, work stress and employee retention in different hierarchical levels in the organisation which is further divided into junior level, middle level and senior level, based on the positions of the job in the organisation. Though the research conclusions found a difference in workplace spirituality and work stress in various hierarchical levels, no much difference was found in employee retention. After analysing the relation of work stress and employee retention among software engineers a negative relation was figured on work stress and employee retention. The study also analysed the mediating effect of workplace on the relation of work stress and employee retention among these engineers and found that there was a partial mediation existing between work stress and employee retention. The study aims to provide an insight on workplace spirituality, employee stress and work stress in the organisation. Since workplace spirituality is still in its budding stage, more studies need to be conducted on the relevant topics. Also, the relation of work place spirituality has to be tested in various other industries also. newline |
