Influence Of Plant Growth Regulators On The Regeneration Of Pomegranate Punica Granatum L By Stem Cuttings Under North Gangetic Plains

Abstract

The present investigate was carried out to investigation the Influence of plant growth regulators on the regeneration of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) by stem cuttings Under North Gangetic Plains at Horticulture Garden, Department of Fruit Science, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur (U.P), India during rainy season of 2019-20 and 2020-21. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with eighteen treatments and replicated thrice. The growth regulators of IBA and NAA both are comprised four levels i.e. 3000, 4000, 5000 and 6000 ppm and GA3 2000 ppm. Water sprays was used as control. All the levels of NAA and IBA used as individual as well as combined with GA3 and control were applied as treatments. The data were analyzed year wise and pooled values also obtained. According to pooled values all the root parameters i.e. percentage of rooted cutting, days taken to root initiation, number of primary roots per cutting, length of longest root, diameter of thickest root, survival percentage of rooted cuttings, fresh weight and dry weight of root and root formation zone were significantly maximized with combined treatment of IBA 4000 ppm + GA3 2000 ppm exhibiting 82.83 % 44.37, 16.37 cm, 2.49 mm, 83.01 % 385.33 mg 96.01 mg and 4.39 cm respectively against control expressing 50.60 % 31.12, 8.06 cm, 1.49 mm, 64.06 %, 279.35 mg, 67.02 mg and 2.14 cm values newlinerespectively newline newline
