A study of mental toughness goal orientation and sports motivation in relation to sports performance of interuniversity combat sports athletes

Abstract

newlineIn the present comparative and correlation study the primary aim was to compare various combat sports viz. Boxing, Wushu, Kick Boxing and Taekwondo. Secondary aim was to compare medalist and non-medalist. Gender differences were also explored. 650respondents from All India Inter-University Competitions participated in the present study. The sample was within the age range of 17-25 years. The sample was taken from the All India Inter-University Competitions of respective games during the session 2017-2019. The sample was collected by using purposive sampling technique. The results are further discussed in the finding of the study section. Overall the results revealed that the medalists showed significant positive profile as compared to non-medalists.
