Abstract: The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the performance of the Indian pharmaceutical industry in the context of exports during the Pre and the Post TRIPS i.e. (1994-95to 2016-2017). The present study has been undertaken to assess various factors, namely whether globalization of the Indian economy has any impact on the pharmaceutical export in India, TRIPS regime under the WTO reforms in the pharmaceutical industry in India. It also focuses on the factors influencing the export performance of IPI during the Pre- Post TRIPS and post-TRIPS periods. The main objective the present research work is to compare the export performance of the Indian pharmaceutical industry in both the pre and post TRIPS period. newlineTo measure the export performance of the top 50 pharmaceutical companies the Compound Average Growth rate, export intensity, to calculate export concentration ratio HHI method has been applied. The export efficiency of the Indian pharmaceutical industry the Stochastic Frontier Approach has been applied. To estimate the Stochastic Frontier analysis we will apply Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). newline The Simple Potential Approach has been applied to find out potential and constraints in top 10 pharmaceutical products export of Indian pharmaceutical industry. The findings of this research work have thrown light on the fact that the Indian pharmaceutical companies will keep on being fruitful in using their resources to explore the worldwide pharmaceutical market in the years.
