Abstract: Fruits are the source of many essential vitamins and nutrients besides being loved for their newlinedelightful taste. They contains many important vitamins required for carrying out biochemical newlinereactions crucial for human growth and development. They are an important source of both newlinedigestible and indigestible carbohydrates. Digestible carbohydrates are present largely in the newlineform of sugars and indigestible cellulose along with the peptic material which provide newlineroughage which is essential for proper functioning of digestive system. The fruits are newlineabsolutely essential for the maintenance of health. Fruits not only contribute the considerable newlineamount of either calories or proteins to the diet; but also they have an outstanding value newlinebecause of their vitamins and minerals. As they are rich in carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins newlineand are an integral part of the balanced diet of human beings. five different types of fruits like newlineApple,Banana,Mango,Papaya and Guava were selected for the study of fungal pathogens and newlinetheir control with plant derived phenolic compounds as an ecofriendly approach. newlineApple are commonly eaten as such and are considered as very valuable dessert fruits. The newlineFruit are sometimes preserved after they are sliced and dried. Besides being canned, apple are newlinealso used for preparation of jams, puddings and jellies. Apple are rich in pectin, vitamins, salts newlineand organic acid are present particularly in the skin of the fruit and just below. The fresh fruit newlinealso contains calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium , phosphorus, sulphur, iron etc. Apart newlinefrom being valuable for human nutrition, the fruits have certain medicinal properties also. newlineThey are useful in diarrhoea and murabba prepared from them in India is regarded as a heart newlinestimulant. newlineBanana fruits are edible, delicious and very nutritious. The content of carbohydrates is high newlineand, in additions , they have some fat and proteins. A fair amount of each of the vitamins, A, newlineB1, B2 and C is also present in them.
