The automotive industry around the world is in transition from IC engine vehicles to battery operated electric vehicles. Most of the countries are shifting to Electric vehicles as the future mode of transport. The Electric vehicles market is currently gaining momentum as it presently will avoid the problem of dependency on fossil fuel, tail pipe emissions and noise free operation. In India also, the automotive industry has started to experience these effects of the transition to electric vehicles. There is an expectation of high level in the penetration of the electric vehicle in India by the year 2030. The reason is that it will reduce the level of pollution and reduce the import of crude oil. In the year 2017, the pollution toxicity in New Delhi was in the red alert. Emissions of 1 Giga Tonne will be reduced, if India executes the plan of transition of the electric vehicle. newlineThe problem for the penetration of electric vehicles in the market is the cost of the electric vehicle, which is higher than that of the IC engine vehicle due to the cost involved in the battery, power electronics, and motor. Also, the challenges from the grid side are the charging infrastructure newline
