Abstract: | Today many computing resources distributed geographically are idle newlinemost of the time The aim of the grid computing is collecting these resources newlineinto a single system Due to the heterogeneity and highly dynamic nature of newlinegrid, effective usage of these resources for distributed computations is a newlinechallenging task To address this issue an effective resource allocation based newlineon dwelling time that is being advocated to solve this problem is proposed newlineDwelling time is characterized by the degree of randomness in availability of newlinethe resources in the Grid scenario for the computational purposes However newlineto widely adopt such tools must be robust towards failures and require newlineeffective mechanisms as well as efficient utilization of resources in the grid newlineenvironment newlineBased on the occurrence characteristics dwelling time can be newlineclassified into three important categories viz permanent semi permanent newlineand sporadic This dissertation has identified these three important characters newlineof resources as a central node of the problem to suggest an efficient method to newlineutilize the idle resources The difficulty arises only if the dwellability of the newlineresources became unpredictable and irregular So it is decided to give first newlinepriority to sporadic and then to semi permanent resources while allocating the newlinejobs for efficient utilization of irregular resources The dynamic nature of newlinesemi permanent and sporadic resources brings uncertainty and it was decided newlinethat fuzzy logic is the suitable method to treat this uncertainty newline newline |
