When it comes to dressing for work, then it becomes even more crucial. But can your dress be your life savior? Yes, this entire study is mainly revolved around this question. Functional workwear thus had gained paramount importance in professional lives. Instead of being impressive it is valued for its utility and performance. It would not be incorrect to state that cement industry is completely neglected on this particular factor. All know that cement in any state, is very dangerous for human beings. The chromium content present in cement is highly hazardous for people dealing with it. Most common and significant threat is occupational diseases like dermatitis. newlineThis industry involves more than one million workforces of which a large portion is directly and adversely affected. The research targets these workers by the means of surveys and interviews. Objectives were to determine the magnitude of occupational hazards in cement industry due to lack of protective workwear and to suitably develop the fabric and the workwear for these workers. Complete scope of work was divided in three phases. First, to assess the exact need of the affected population; second, develop the fabric and the workwear through experiment. The third phase was to make the workforce aware of the development. Field trials and feedback validated the overall study. The outcome in the form of functional protective workwear can revolutionize the cement industries, both manufacturers and users, taking care of their most important asset: human beings. newline
